NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Goodell would "make an expedited determination

Still, there's no telling how long the reprieve will last.

Coming just two days before the first full slate of NFL games this season, the ruling is a setback for Commissioner Roger Goodell and the league. But while the decision allows the players to rejoin their teams, it does not permanently void their suspensions.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Goodell would "make an expedited determination of the discipline imposed" for violating the league's bounty rule.

"Until that determination is made, the four players are reinstated and eligible to play starting this weekend," Aiellosaid.

Vilma, who had been suspended the whole season, tweeted: "Victory is mine!!!! -stewie griffin"

The Steelers played for the first time without familiar faces Hines Ward

The Steelers played for the first time without familiar faces Hines Ward and James Farrior, who both retired in the offseason. Three other stars -- linebacker James Harrison, nose tackle Casey Hampton and running back Rashard Mendenhall -- sat out with injuries. Steelers fullback David Johnson and tackle Mike Adams left with right knee injuries. Tomlin said Johnson's injury appears serious.

Five starters sat out with injuries for Philadelphia. They were wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, tight end Brent Celek, defensive ends Jason Babin and Trent Cole and safety Nate Allen. Defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins left the game with a right hamstring injury.

Mularkey said the team sent all of its proposals to the league

Mularkey said the team sent all of its proposals to the league for approval, adding that the NFL signed off on the one involving injury talk.

"Yes, absolutely," he said. "Everything that we believe we would like to address, we send that to the league, and the league approves everything."

Mularkey said the NFL mandates that teams go over the league's rules and procedures handbook before camp. He said the team has the option of adding its own rules to the NFL's list, and that's where the injury crackdown arose.

Silva, on Tuesday at a pre-fight news conference for Saturday's pay-per-view

"If not No. 1, it's up there," White said. "I've never been in a situation where a guy says, 'This guy's such a disrespectful punk, he doesn't deserve this shot – and I'm not gonna fight him.'"

Silva, on Tuesday at a pre-fight news conference for Saturday's pay-per-view, reiterated his stance that he doesn't think Sonnen should get another crack at him, saying a combination of Sonnen's disrespect toward him, his family and his country are part of the reason. But Silva also said his win over Demian Maia in 2010 and Maia's win over Sonnen in 2009 is further proof the two don't belong in the same cage.

But White most certainly doesn't believe that to be the case.

"There's no doubt Anderson doesn't what to give him this rematch. That's a fact," White said. "My philosophy is always, if you don't like it, handle it in (the octagon). You can't say a guy doesn't deserve it because you think he's mean. He definitely deserves the rematch. More than anybody. It's true.

Swofford said he hopes the commissioners

There are still plenty of details to be hammered out, but at least one BCS conference commissioner believes he and his colleagues can reach a compromise on the model for a four-team playoff to determine college football's national championship -- possibly as soon as this week.

ACC commissioner John Swofford told ESPN.com on Monday that the 11 FBS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick have made "considerable progress" as they head into their meeting in Chicago on Wednesday.

Swofford said he hopes the commissioners will be able to present a four-team playoff to the BCS Presidential Oversight Committee in Washington, D.C., next week. The presidents' committee, which is chaired by Virginia Tech's Charles W. Steger and includes 12 university presidents, will ultimately decide where college football's postseason is headed.

The teams met four straight years from 1997-00

It starts Saturday with the Chicago Bulls, the overall No. 1 seed, hosting the Philadelphia 76ers. Then it's Miami against New York, with James and Anthony just a couple of the big names in a series loaded with star power.

And with history.

The teams met four straight years from 1997-00, the Knicks winning three of the series and earning a draw in the fights. The animosity doesn't exist between these players—James and Anthony have known each other since high school before entering the league together in 2003—but you bet it's still around for the organizations and fans.

Ilya Bryzgalov overcame another shaky start to stop 23 shots

Couturier admitted to feeling some jitters before the series opener. Funny, he hardly looked nervous when his third goal of the night sewed it up with 1:49 remaining before Giroux's empty-netter completed the scoring.

"He's 19, but he plays like he's 28," Giroux said.

Ilya Bryzgalov overcame another shaky start to stop 23 shots for the Flyers, who never blinked after getting down by multiple goals for the ninth time in their past 14 games.

"You have a choice to win the game or give up," Bryzgalov said.
